Ursula von der Leyen, chairman of the forthcoming European Union Executive Committee, said today that the “impact” brought by Brexit has brought the remaining EU member states closer.

Van der Ryan said in Berlin that the chaotic Brexit procedure reminds many people who are “suspicious to the EU” and continue to benefit from the EU.

On the eve of the 30th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall, Van Der Ryan gave a wide range of speeches. She once served as German Defense Minister and said that the EU has proved to be more determined in times of crisis.

Van der Ryan said: “It sounds very contradictory, but the impact of Brexit, but strengthens the power of unity.”

Van Der Ryan said: “Because this not only shows the price that will actually be paid for Brexit, but also allows Member States to understand how much benefit they can get as part of the EU.”

The outside world predicted that Britain’s decision to leave the European Union would cause a lack of consensus among the EU countries, but Van Der Ryan retorted: “Although countries are not the same, for the Brexit negotiations, 27 member states stand in the same position.”
